How hard is it to be saved in an unsaved world? I mean really, be honest. How hard is it to follow God and be obedient to his word when everything around you wants you to do the opposite. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD. Being the light and salt of the earth is a very challenging task when all the world wants is darkness and paprika. With everything going on around us and all the distractions we face day to day, it's very hard to remain holy and Christian. This is why we have to know who we are in Christ, especially young people. Things will try to deter and steer you away from God and all He has for you if you're not planted and grounded in His word daily and in who you are. I can't stress this enough for our youth. There is so much pressure on teens and children to lead them away from God. Whether it be peer pressure, sex pressure, music pressure or whatever pressure; if you're not firm in your identity in Christ you will fall victim and find yourself giving into the pressures of ungodly council. All theses different types of pressure are forms of identity crisis. When you know who you are in Christ you don't fall under the weight of the world because your foundation is sturdy and firm. However, when you don't know who you are in Christ you become subject to those negative influences and then you slowly start to stray towards them because your base or foundation is either minimal or absent. See the difference between someone who knows their identity in Christ and someone who doesn't isn't just knowing that alone. You have to know who you are AND whose you are. As Christians we must be strong and familiar in the concept "I am not what you say I am, I am what My father says I am." When you without a doubt know that you were made for a purpose, plan and you're fearfully and wonderfully made; you don't just tolerate and accept everything that comes your way. You don't fall into the pot holes and trap doors of life. Part of knowing who you are is a matter of knowing your worth. When you're in tune with your foundation and your base you're not easily moved by the pressure of conformity. You are not easily swayed. And ultimately that is the key to being saved in an unsaved world. Are you easily swayed? And just because you do know who you are in Christ and what your foundation is, it doesn't mean it'll get easy to be saved in an unsaved world. All that means is that you know where to go for help. You're not perfect so you lean on someone who is. It'll never get easy, but we do have help.
Another aspect to being saved in an unsaved world is understanding your purpose and why you were put on this earth. When you know what your purpose is you have no time to be caught up in the thorns and thistles of life. A person who knows their future is bright and their destiny is promising wont be swayed or give into the pressure. God placed each and everyone of us on this universe solely for a purpose. Find out what that is so you can begin your journey rather than delay it.
This is one of the hardest tasks we endure as Christians but it is also the most rewarding because of the beauty at the end of the tunnel. God is waiting for us to reach the pearly gates and show us our final resting place. I mean, why else do we go through being saved in an unsaved world? Why else do we go through the pressure, persecution and humiliation? Just imagine Jesus when he rose from the grave. Close your eyes and picture it..... I bet he was happy. After being nailed down, beaten, and ridiculed .... wouldn't that make you happy? And that's what it is all about, It's so worth it in the end. It's worth holding in every cuss word, avoiding every fight, showing love to that person who showed you hate, forgiving the person who cut you off in traffic and every step you made into your destiny and identity. It's woth it. There's no greater reward than getting to heaven and hearing God say well done at the end of your life. But that doesn't come easy, you have to press on and endure the temptation and pressure of the world. So is being saved in a an unsaved world worth eventually getting to be saved in a saved one? Yes, Yes and Yes!
